Gawkk Activity Feed

We just launched some neat updates to our activity feed that allow you to see more of what people are doing on the site.  Here’s the list of improvements:

  • See Votes up and down: You’ll now know when your friends like or dislike a video.
  • View everyone’s activity: Simply select “Everyone” on the home page activity stream to see what the whole Gawkk community it up to.
  • Get friends-of-friends activity: When viewing a friend’s profile, simply click the Activity tab and navigate by friend to see what they’re doing.
  • Read all comments: You can now view all of the comments on the site from the View All link on the “Recent Comments” section on the home page.

We think you’ll definitely notice and use these subtle updates as you get deeper into the Gawkk community.  Enjoy!

Gawkk Delivers Video Discovery Engine With a Social Center

Louis Gray, the founder and thoughtful writer of his eponymous blog, LouisGray.com, has written an excellent article evaluating Gawkk.  In the article, Louis notes:

… we have seen the rise of more personal, friend-centric services to exchange links, images and video through social media in the last few years, including sites like FriendFeed, Twitter, Ballhype and Socialmedian. A new name to be included as part of that conversation is Gawkk, a social video discovery and sharing site, which pulls in the most popular videos across the Web…

Louis elegantly captured the essence of Gawkk by noting how we allow people to easily find and share the best videos from around the web by following the videos that their friends save, like and share with each other on the site.
